General Surgeon - Locum Tenens Call Coverage We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Surgeon to provide essential call-only coverage for our facility, starting July 1, 2025. This is an ongoing locum opportunity critical to ensuring continuous, high-quality surgical care for our patients. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing a broad range of general surgical emergencies and urgent cases. This role requires an experienced surgeon who can respond promptly and effectively to emergent needs, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive on-call coverage for all general surgical emergencies and urgent cases .
• Respond promptly to pages and consults from the Emergency Department, critical care units, and other hospital services.
• Perform emergent and urgent surgical procedures as required, including but not limited to, acute appendicitis, cholecystitis, bowel obstructions, trauma cases, and other acute abdominal conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with emergency physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient management.
• Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions using the Epic EMR System .
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety protocols. Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency Program.
  • Board Certification in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery (or equivalent recognized board).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing acute general surgical emergencies.
  • Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills, coupled with strong critical thinking.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Proficiency with the Epic EMR System is essential.
