Operations Engineering is a multi-discipline engineering team that is at the core of technical decision making at Enbridge. We apply the practice of engineering to ensure the safe, reliable operation of our assets while optimizing the short- and long-term value that can be gained from operational initiatives, projects, and programs. Within the 50-person strong Operations Engineering group, there is a wide range of industry, operational and consulting experience. If your formal education is in engineering or engineering technology, and you actually want to practice engineering, to help Enbridge achieve our goals, you have a home in Operation Engineering.What You Will Do:Engineering ServicesSupport development and management of electrical equipment specifications, design and construction standards.Support technical SME support for electrical operating/maintenance procedures, commissioning equipment check and testing requirements.Support technical interpretations of standards and codes for Enbridge operations and project groups.Support opportunities for Innovative technologies and contribute to technical reviews of recent technologies.Provide power protection support and coordination/arc flash studies.Operations SupportSupport power systems engineering and technical support.Develop skills and provide support to troubleshoot, analyze, and prepare solutions for electrical issues related to medium voltage electrical assets operating, testing, and commissioning.Provide electrical system/asset reliability, quality, and electrical safety support.Collaborate with department senior engineers, regional engineers, technical supervisors, contact engineers, and specialists to develop solutions to equipment and process reliability issues.Support the development and prioritization of capital and maintenance budget development activities including Long Range Planning and Forecasting.Support failure analyses and incident investigations.Project SupportSupport project technical design reviews.Develop to provide engineering expertise and participate in designs to project managers on capital projects or programs within the regions supported.Support technical review and sign-off of electrical test results.Support power protective relay commissioning support.Asset Health and ReliabilitySupport Equipment Maintenance Strategies (EMS).Support Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new and modified equipment and systems.Support asset-specific, system-specific and fleet assessment of asset health to support reliability, optimization and long-range planning.Support bad actor management (BAM) and root cause analysis (RCA) - Utilize FRACAS (Failure reporting and corrective action system) to identify and support systemic concerns and support RCA recommendation and analysis.Who You Are:You have the following:4-year Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.Registration as a professional engineer or the ability to obtain PE licensure within one year after hired preferred.2 - 4 years of experience in electrical engineering experiencePreferred:Professional Engineering (PE) certification.Knowledgeable of regulatory and industry codes/standards, including: NFPA 70, 70E, NESC, IEEE and other applicable standards.Ability to consistently solve technical problems as they arise and make decisions on how a problem s solution will impact the immediate problem and the system as a whole.Ability to regularly shift between planned and unplanned activities, while remaining effective despite the resulting disruptive effects.Ability to effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.Proven capability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.Proven skills in both written and verbal communication.Working Conditions:Primarily office based with scheduled travel and occasional urgent response needs related to investigations or field activities.Travel to the assigned regions is expected, however short-term travel may be more frequent for incident response and/or technical support of work within the region.Must be responsive and provide timely quality results appropriate to the corporate risk/urgency as a consequence to system incidents or asset performance inputs.Field conditions include outdoor and indoor MV/HV installations.Company phone with after-hours regional technical support is expected.Flex WorkEnbridge provides competitive workplace programs that differentiate us and offer flexibility to our team members.
