Position Summary

Plans, schedules, and manages the efficient movement of raw materials from suppliers to plant receiving or the warehouse for production. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and material control systems activities related to raw material control and inventory control functions. Ensures raw materials are ordered and in stock while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
---Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production.
---Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules; will use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
---Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements; may negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the consistent and adequate supply of raw materials required for production.
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
  • Utilizes strong organizational and time management skills to facilitate inventory issues, schedule changes, cancellations, etc.
  • Works on problems of limited scope and contributes on projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher level professionals.
  • Contributes to the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree; or equivalent work experience.

    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
