We are currently seeking a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC to work at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, Michigan. The Maintenance Mechanic I, provides technical support for the maintenance and operations of the physical plant and grounds of all the associated buildings of the Aspirus Ironwood.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of healthcare/clinical duties including but not limited to a wide variety of repairs, preventive, and routine maintenance on critical mechanical equipment, buildings, roofs, and grounds.
• Routinely tours buildings and grounds, mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, machine, and equipment rooms.
• Periodically patrols entrances for security, locking and unlocking of doors.
• Assists with Environmental Services (cleaning) as needed. Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience preferred in general maintenance in a commercial, industrial, or health care setting.
  • Possess a valid Driver's license.
  • Technical training in mechanical and electrical subject areas desirable.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt.
    Hours: This position is Full Time; 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period. Varied shift. Weekend/Holiday rotation.

      Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
