      The General Maintenance Worker performs housekeeping tasks and minor equipment repairs in all buildings of the Minnesota Sex Offender Program - Moose Lake campus. In this role, the General Maintenance Worker demonstrates a responsiveness to facility needs, supporting a safe and secure facility in which clients receive quality professional services in a therapeutic environment that is safe for staff, visitors and clients.

      Primary Responsibilities Include:
      • Performing housekeeping, sanitation and general maintenance work so that a safe, sanitary and aesthetically sound environment is maintained
      • Providing guidance, direction and assistance to client workers so that clients receive planned, coordinated, and comprehensive treatment
      • Cleaning and maintaining floors, appropriately disposing of garbage and recyclable materials, snow/ice removal
      • Maintaining and performing minor repairs on tools and equipment so equipment is kept serviceable and in good working order
        Operations Services division of Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) provides foundational services to each of the DCT core services including Forensics, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Services, Community Based Services, Minnesota Sex Offender Program and Ambulatory clinics. Operation Services consists of many departments which are shared throughout these core services to ensure those served receive the highest quality care. Operation Services doesn't work for just one program - Operation Services works for many.
        This vacancy is located within the Minnesota Sex Offender Program campus. The Minnesota Sex Offender Program serves people who are court ordered to receive sex offender treatment via the civil commitment process.

        Note: This announcement will be used to fill two (2) vacancies at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) in Moose Lake, MN. There is currenly one (1) vacancy remaining.

        Qualifications

        Minimum Qualifications

        To qualify, applicants must have:

        A High School diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, and have the following:

        Knowledge of:
        • Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment
        • Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely
        • Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs
          Ability to:
          • Follow basic oral and written instructions
          • Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction
          • Keep basic records
          • Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions
            NOTE: Resume must reflect each of the qualifications listed above.

            Preferred Qualifications
            • Experience performing housekeeping or janitorial work within a large complex
