Job Description and Responsibilities: Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor General Summary: Performs skilled maintenance, fabrication or installation work on plant equipment. Performs work in accordance with maintenance system, within the TS 16949 system. Essential Functions: Essential functions "are those functions that the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. Will be expected to verify, isolate, and do corrective action on production line problems and breakdowns
Conduct PM's and document worked performed
Shall communicate all inspections and repairs to supervision (Managers and/or Supervisor on duty
Use appropriate equipment to test or analyze problems with plant equipment
Repair or replace parts on existing equipment or installs new equipment
Fabricate and assemble new plant buildings or equipment or alter existing properties or machines
Perform assigned work involving layout & fabrication, carpentry, pipefitting, installation and painting when assigned
Expected to work from ladders or platforms when necessary and to work both inside and outside the plant buildings as required
Must perform all work while following recognized rules for safety and health
Keep work area in good order and clean-up when necessary
Perform various associated tasks and/or duties as required by all supervision
Work with, train, and encourage less experienced co-workers Experience Required Industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and layout fabrication experience preferred Education, Training & Skills High School Diploma or GED required
Trade/technical school training desired
Training is provided on the job Work Schedule/Job Rotation/Breaks: 12 hour shifts rotating 36 hours one week then 48 hours the next week. (12 hours max/day)Two 15 minute breaks and a paid 20 minute lunch Work Environment: Frequent exposure to loud noises

Repetitive Forward Bend Occasional (depends on type of repairs made at location) Stair/Ladder Climb Frequent (moving throughout foundry, using ladders when running conduit, painting) Walking Continuous (moving throughout foundry to the site of repair and obtain tools/equipment) Balance Increased Balance (ascending/descending steps) Hand Strength/Coordination Functional Levels (continuous work with various hand tools) Repetitive/Prolonged Squat Occasional (depends on type of repairs made at location) Stationary Stand Rare (varies depending on the task at hand) Physical Requirements: LIFTING (Minimal - Once per hour. Occasional - Less than 15 lifts per hour. Frequent - between 15 and 30 lifts per hour. Constant - More than 30 per hour.) Low Lift Occasional Up to 70 lbs from floor to 36 inches (lifting Porto power on to cart) Note Lifts up to 400 lbs may be performed with the use of mechanical assistance (lifting small gear box or motors) Level Lift Frequent Up to 25 lbs (working with various large hand tools) Elevated Lift Occasional Up to 12 lbs from 36 in. to 82 in. (retrieving/returning tools from shelves) Physical Requirements: UPPER EXTREMITIES (Minimum: greater than once per week and less than 25 minutes of 8 hour work cycle. Occasional: less than 1/3. Frequent: 1/3 to 2/3. Constant: over 2/3 of work cycle.) Bilateral/ Unilateral Carry Occasional 66 lbs a distance of 200 feet (carry ladders through foundry/up steps) Forward Reach Continuous (welding/repairing equipment, working in shop, installing conduit) Above Mid Torso Reach Frequent (using welding rod above head, working on conduit) Push/Pull Frequent Up to 45 lbs push force (initial force to position and begin moving cart with torch) Sensory Requirements Vision Constant Near Acuity: 20 in. or less (inspection of equipment/reading manuals) Far Acuity: 20 ft. or more (moving throughout foundry) Depth Perception: (moving throughout foundry) Hearing Constant Communicating via radio, warning alarms, forklift back up alarm, communicating with coworkers and supervisors Speech Constant Communicating via Radio and with co-workers Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
