We are looking for an experienced and driven Payment Reconciliation Analyst. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Healthcare Revenue Cycle or payer reimbursement setting. This role will serve as a business contact for our clients and is responsible for reconciling our contracted contingency reporting requirements by monitoring expected reimbursement to actual payments received. You must have hands on experience with 835 remittance payment review as well as a practical understanding of CPT/ HCPCS and ICD10 coding as applicable in the Healthcare Revenue Cycle space. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and well-developed analytic and organizational skills to effectively support client focus and project management. As a successful candidate for this Payment Reconciliation Analyst role you will establish yourself as a trusted advisor, both internally with your Waystar peers, and externally as a client facing representative of Waystar. The successful candidate will have the ability to approach analytical reconciliation of payments independently and enjoys working in a fast-paced and collaborative team-based environment

  • Perform monthly analysis of 835 remittance payment & adjustment transactions
  • Review and analysis of payment variance using custom tools and manual SQL scripts
  • Represent Waystar in client meetings regarding reconciliation of actual payments to expected payments
  • Researching complex issues and collaborate with Client Success and Product teams to determine effective resolutions
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements for Product development
  • Utilizing SQL to pull data elements for in depth analysis of financial transaction and remittance details Do you fit our team?
    • Self-sufficient with strong analytical and research skills
    • Working knowledge of hospital charging practices, payer reimbursement methodology, medical necessity criteria, and applicable industry-based standards
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Demonstrate independent judgment, discretion, and decision-making abilities
    • Self-motivated, hardworking individual with a high attention to detail
    • Proficient using Microsoft Office products and the ability to work effectively with computerized programs and databases Preferred Experience
      • 3+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement environment including:
      • CPT, HCPCS and ICD10 coding methods
      • 1+ years of SQL experience
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly skilled in Excel
      • Knowledge of payer reimbursement methodology for government and commercial payers is a plus
      • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
