POSITION SUMMARY: The Deposit Specialist will be an integral part of the operations team supporting the Deposit Systems Manager with the administration of core deposit systems, Cognos the core reporting system, the document imaging system and assists the administrator of the deposit origination application OnBoard Deposits. This role will also provide operational support and guidance pertaining to all aspects of IRA accounts which includes a deep understanding of rules and regulations, account/transaction monitoring and tax reporting requirements. The ideal candidate requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of deposit systems.
Please note that we are hiring for only one position, although this opportunity is posted in multiple markets where Park State Bank is located.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist the Deposit Systems Manager in the administration and maintenance of core deposit systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Understand deposit system functionality and/or complexities of the system, analyze enhancements and changes made by core vendor.
  • Identify and address system issues and take appropriate action to resolve.
  • Assist with administration of Cognos reporting system which includes creating new and enhancing existing reports and scheduling report distributions.
  • Assist with administration of the deposit portion of document imaging system to ensure accurate and efficient document storage and retrieval.
  • Support administrator of the deposit origination application in regard to system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on IRA/HSA related questions for retail staff.
  • Understand IRA and HSA Plans, the core system/transfer codes used for IRA and HSA Contributions, Distribution, Transfers and Rollovers.
  • Responsible for staying current on changes to IRA/HSA regulations and rules.
  • Review IRA and HSA transactions to ensure that they have been processed correctly for accurate IRS reporting.SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    • Responsible to become knowledgeable about and adhere to all relevant compliance regulations (as it affects the department).
    • Reports to the VP Deposit Systems Manager for all functions, but also receives requests, guidance, and advice from other members of management. Makes appropriate decisions systematically within authority limits and seeks higher-level approval when appropriate.
    • Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, departments, divisions, etc.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
      • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Perform quality work within determined timeframes.
      • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, vendors and shareholders.
      • Ability to work independently and effectively as well as collaborate with a team.

      • Must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with employees, management, and co-workers.

          WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional travel between offices and out-of-town/overnight business travel required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required. Serves as a representative of the Bank at appropriate functions.
