Enbridge has an exciting and impactful opportunity for you! As a
Tribal Engagement Specialist, you will be accountable for
Enbridge's tribal engagement in the Midwest Operating Region with
primary focus in Wisconsin. Develop recommendations for the
implementation of Tribal Engagement and Enbridge's Indigenous
Reconciliation Action Plan (IRAP) in Wisconsin, and other areas as
needed.
Manage the development and the implementation of strategies for
Indigenous engagement, Indigenous economic inclusion, and community
investment. Oversee and influence contracted resources involved in
engagement within various Indigenous communities. Develop and
implement the regional engagement plan as it pertains to Indigenous
engagement. Negotiate and manage positive relationships and
agreements with Indigenous communities and organizations. Influence
and advise other Enbridge departments, including Environment,
Operations, Projects, Legal, and Compliance, on tribal consultation
processes, cultural resource protection, economic inclusion, and
input required for permitting Enbridge projects and maintenance.
Influence and advise Community and Indigenous Engagement senior
leaders to ensure engagement meets the regional and project

What you will do:
- Build & sustain positive and mutually beneficial relationships
with tribes.
- Manage the company's Indigenous Engagement and support
consultation efforts carried out in support of major projects and
operational projects as assigned.
- Provide professional advice and counsel to Enbridge's Public
Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability leaders and project
management with respect to Indigenous relations, including the
consultation process, local inclusion and community
benefits.
- Lead and manage negotiations with local communities and
Indigenous Tribes on agreements, benefits and inclusion.
- Coach, mentor and manage a cross-discipline team of people who
will assist with Indigenous Engagement.
- Help build relationships between tribes and project management
and project/ business development teams.
- Provide counsel and capacity for field engagement of partners
in support of project and operations objectives such as developing
specific engagement plans and strategies that will meet business
needs, including cultural training
- Manage and report on stakeholder and Indigenous Engagement
project budgets for projects assigned to the role and its direct
reports.
- Working in a manner that adheres to Enbridge's corporate values

Ensure Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements are
being met; and that engagement programs are designed and
implemented in a manner that will foster good relationships with
our partners and Indigenous neighbors.
- Manage key processes with WI team including partner mapping,
issues management, risk management, integrated communication,
engagement strategies and actions plans.
- Influence and advise on conceptual and operational designs of
energy projects, including; renewable energy facilities, low-carbon
projects and pipelines to determine potential impacts to Indigenous
peoples.
- Participate as a member of the U.S. Public Affairs and
Communications with crisis response team, especially as pertains to
communication with Indigenous partners.
Crisis Communications & Response Team
- May serve as part of the crisis communications & response team
(CCRT) during operational incidents or emergencies and
non-operational events. If identified as a member of the CCRT,
training will be provided.
You have:
- A post-secondary Degree in Business, Communications or Social
Science or relevant job experience in the resources sector.
You can:
- Demonstrate a minimum of six (6) years related work
experience.
You are:
- Someone with specific experience in Indigenous engagement,
cross-cultural partner and community relations.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of tribal rights and cultures.
- Familiarity with applicable government and regulatory
requirements, as well as present day issues and community dynamics.
Working knowledge of general regulatory and partner consultation
requirements of projects, including federal and state requirements
with the ability to tap technical expertise in each area while
maintaining a bigger picture or integrated view.
- Ability to use adaptive management approaches in dealing with
complex political environments where there is growing external
expectations, emerging project risks and a changing regulatory and
legal environment.
- Knowledge of community development practices and organizational
effectiveness strategies.
Social Process (People) Skills:
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team
environment.
- Interpersonal skills that facilitate a collaborative,
results-driven working group of experts that do not directly report
to incumbent. Ability to network across all business units and
various departments within Enbridge.
- Ability to interact effectively and establish credibility with
a wide audience including community leaders and representatives,
field and corporate staff, external stakeholder groups, partners
and contractors.
- Solid written and verbal communication, presentation and
organizational abilities.
- Persistence, patience and the ability to provide mentorship and
guidance to others.
- Strong interpersonal skills; empathy, communication, listening,
conflict resolution, respectful negotiation of issues, conflict
resolution, teamwork and positive attitude..
- Passionate about and experienced in building employee
engagement and organizational alignment through effective internal
communications.

- Potential for significant travel and time commitments outside
of normal working hours
- Company paid international relocation is not offered for this
role.
