Job Description:


Summary: The Structural Lead verifies and documents all phases of structural steel installation is performed in accordance with applicable codes and specifications. The candidate will work directly with the Project Manager, QA/QC, engineering and the contractor to ensure the project finishes safely and on schedule.

Key duties:

This position is responsible for performing visual inspections of the structural steel installation, repairs and bolted connections
Work directly with QA/QC to ensure all inspections are scheduled and performed
Read construction documents to determine project details and specifications
Complete daily reports, test reports and timesheets documenting construction progress
Communicate orally and in writing with engineers, contractors and the project manager on a daily basis
Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
Work directly with Contracts department
Document the as-built structural steel drawings


Minimum Qualifications:

Strong background in structural steel erection of large construction projects.
Excellent technical, communication and organizational skills
Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
