Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a part-time Independent Living Skills Worker (IHSW) for our In-Home Adult program in Duluth, MN. As an IHSW, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most independent lives. Eligible employees may also qualify for tuition assistance and student loan forgiveness through state and federal assistance programs.What you'll do as an Independent Living Skills Worker:As an IHS Worker, you will serve adults living in private home settings. You will help individuals achieve their maximum level of independence by providing skill training and supports needed to perform everyday tasks. You will work collaboratively with the person and their support team to implement supports plans that will help them achieve independence in a variety of skill areas including:- Physical and personal needs- Communication- Household management- Community living/mobility- Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior- Sensory/motor development- Socialization- Vocational and educational- Health and wellnessHours are flexible for this position, but staff must be available between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Every other weekend is required, but not likely.For this position, you will need:- A valid driver's license with no restrictions and have a working vehicle- A two-year degree in a behavioral science or related field preferred OR:- One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred- To pass a post-offer background check and Motor Vehicle Report checkAbout RSI:RSI has been working in communities in Minnesota since 1978 in :home and community-based settings for people living with disabilities and mental illness, providing a range of services catered for individuals of all ages, identities, and abilities.
