Ensuring integrity on critical infrastructure is maintained is a key component of our pipeline safety program at Enbridge by applying both field and office-based corrosion prevention strategies.

You will conduct technical reviews and reporting on corrosion prevention designs and integrity assessments. Project management will be required on development, execution, and financial reporting of capital or maintenance projects throughout the LP business units.

What you will do:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve cathodic protection, casing and AC management programs through implementation of standard methodologies.

  • Develop and maintain technically supported and transparently defensible monitoring / mitigation plans to control the corrosion threat on the Liquids Pipeline system.

  • Accountable to ensure corrosion control records are detailed and maintained according to Enbridge and regulatory guidelines.

  • Provide corrosion prevention expertise and recommendations to internal and external partners.

  • Evaluate and make technical recommendations on the corrosion prevention data in accordance with company standards & and recommended practices.

Who you are:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or applied science with specialization in Corrosion.

  • Minimum NACE certified CP II or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Minimum NACE Level I CIP or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, independent, innovative, responsible and a phenomenal teammate with a strong work ethic and initiative.

  • Role requires a valid driver's license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.

Working Conditions:

  • Office 85%.

  • Field 15% - travel and work outdoors and out of province/state in all types of weather, long periods of driving and working alone, capable of trouble shooting CP infrastructure, providing project inspection, managing project construction and implementing safety practices.

  • Out of country travel for company sponsored events and professional development.

Physical Requirements (Office) include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Communication: Include but are not limited to: Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines and complete routine forms, use existing form letter and/or conduct routine oral communication, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and/or to orally communicate technical information, communicate with individuals utilizing a telephone; required ability to hear and speak effectively on phone.
