Our employees are driven by diverse and challenging projects while being able to make meaningful contributions to essential industries.LAKE SUPERIOR CONSULTING is currently growing at a fast pace and as part of that growth, we are seeking to fill a position as an Integrity Management Engineering Intern at our office in Duluth, MN.The successful candidate will assist with projects in our growing Integrity Management group. This will include pipeline related design, construction management and integrity management projects from inception through delivery. This person will receive training in the various phases of engineering work. Learn procedures, specifications, industry terms, standards and work practices, and work under close supervision.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with providing support in: estimating, contracting, design, construction management, integrity management, or commissioning functions for projects involving pipelines and related facilitiesComplete information interviews with LSC personnel to gain a better understanding of the industry and LSC's contributions towards itProvide field assistance to Lead field personnel and engineers on cathodic protection, in-line inspection, direct assessment, and pressure testing projectsProvide technical assistance to Engineering and Operations Departments to help resolve operating problems or to help establish best practicesSupport the completion of projects using engineering principles and techniquesRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and perform CAD supportProduce details of specifications and outline designsAssist with the preparation of design reports and final project reportsRequired Skills:Current sophomore or junior engineering studentProficient in MSOffice SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to learn quickly and develop professionallyAbility to multitask, managing multiple assignmentsAbility to travel, up to 25%Knowledge of Energy Industry a plusPhysical Requirements and Demands:The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Routinely use standard office equipment such as but not limited to: computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
