Process Controls Engineer - Hayward, WIArclin USA is currently seeking talent for a Process Controls Engineer for our Hayward, WI location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role will develop, evaluate, and improve the manufacturing controls and automation utilizing knowledge of instrumentation, controls and automation, product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilities. Works closely with automation, engineering, operations and safety functions to ensure all aspects of change management are executed, and maintain all quality control standards.Process Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities:Maintain the systems necessary to ensure quality of raw materials and finished products, providing primary support for all chemistry / quality related manufacturingAct as liaison between R (Research & Technology), Technical Sales, Marketing & Sales, and Production; provide guidance for department (Lab) activity and ensure it is withinMonitor and improve the efficiency and output of the plant, ensure the manufacturing process works at optimal levels, maximize the rate and quality of all surface treaters in order to meet supply requirementsProvide technical advice on plant operations and improvementsCollaborates on the preparation of engineering analysis of projects that includes preliminary design, detailed design, project cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipmentAssume responsibility for risk assessment, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies for the health and safety of both plant staff and the community. Apply principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to process and equipment design and controls strategy, including conceptual, scheme and detail design. Ensure that all aspects of the operation and process meet specified safety and environmentalLeads Corrective and Preventative Action documentation and response, including leading the site in the discipline of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action PlanningProcess Controls Engineer Job Requirements:B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering3-5 years engineering experience in a chemical or paper manufacturing facilityWill consider recent college graduates based on school program and GPAKnowledge of Programmable Logic Control, Distributive Process Controls Systems (DeltaV), HMI and Automation control systemsAbility to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facilityKnowledge of process simulation softwareHAZOP Facilitation and PSM KnowledgeOn-Call for Quality and Production issuesAbility to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 20 lbs, standing for extended periods of time, crouching, stooping, climbing stairs, etc.Preferred:Six Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltRegistered as a Professional EngineerControls KnowledgeAB RS Logix 5/500/5000, Control Logix, Powerflex drive, HMI/SCADA, I-Fix, ParcView and DeltaV Batch experience is aInstalling, calibrating, configuring & troubleshooting process instrumentation (pressure, temperature and flow)Knowledge of PCs, LANs, computer hardware and software installation and support**Please note: The above statements are designed to outline the functions and position requirements of this job.
