Engineers in this role are responsible for design, development, integration, and certification of aircraft systems including Bleed Air, Oxygen, Environmental, Pressurization, and Ice Protection on both the SR and SF platforms as well as new projects. Candidates will also be responsible for coordinating development and system integration work with subcontractors and external suppliers.Duties and Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsInterface with other aircraft disciplines, including structural and electrical, across the Cirrus Aircraft platformWork with a multi-discipline team on pneumatic system design development.Perform heat transfer analysis and fluid flow analysis with respect to pneumatic system architectures and expected performance.Perform on-aircraft and lab/bench testing of pneumatic systems and system components to validate performance and to support certification requirements.Active involvement in development and certification of aircraft systems under FAR Part 23 or Part 25.Research industry guidance documents for best practices, e.g. SAE.Author and check documents including test plans and reports, certification reports, and other engineering documents.Perform trade studies involving weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.Must have strong written and verbal communication skills on technical issues and have a high level of initiative to fill gaps when necessary.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
