The Advanced Development Group Airframe Engineer role is
responsible for evaluating and generating new designs intended for
all generations of Cirrus aircraft. This position places a premium
on efficient collaboration of early design thru a balance of
analytical and hands on efforts. Applicants must have a high
attention to detail and a strong desire to continually learn new
processes for design, fabrication, and assembly.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Comfortable designing and fabricating airframe structural
components, using a mix of hand tools and common industrial
- Work closely with vendors to define requirements and evaluation
of system performance to Cirrus standards
- Generate engineering documentation in accordance with company
procedures to develop and evaluate design data for future
- Participate in developmental installations and evaluations of
- Produce structural analysis of primary and secondary structural
components, as well as cost and weight estimates
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Bachelor's degree or greater in a technical field related to
Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience in aerospace
- Experience performing aircraft structural analysis via a
combination of classical hand calculations and Finite Element
- Experience with composites and/or molded panel
- Pilot experience desirable
- Knowledge preferable with software including Creo, Windchill,
FEMAP, Nastran, Mathcad, Atlassian Jira and Microsoft Office
(Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Power Bi.
