And our work depends on a Project Innovation Lead Solution Expert joining our team to support Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) for the United States Postal Service (USPS) activities located remotely.You will be responsible for providing business and technical architectural guidance across GDIT groups and workstreams for existing and new products and services. The Innovation and Improvement (I&I) team lead develops marketing strategies, business concepts, and technical capabilities that maximize customer value while differentiating GDIT from their competition in the marketplace.The role is responsible for:

  • Defining, designing, and implementing the full lifecycle of products and services
  • Defining a concept of operations and the procedures and tools required to enable delivery of products and services
  • Conducting analysis of alternatives (AoA) on a variety of technical solutions to determine the best solutions to support overall business goals and objectivesAt GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role, a typical day will include:
    • Facilitate reach back to various GDIT solution teams to bring smarter innovation, process improvement, and automation solutions to the GDIT COSI support team
    • Supports the team by providing expert guidance and thought leadership for developing technical and business solutions
    • Identify solutions based on business and technical criteria, analyzes alternatives based on trade space, and implements designs
    • Continuously research current and emerging technologies and process methodologies and propose changes and tailoring to project needs as needed
    • Manage our Continuous Service Improvement initiatives (CSI2) by incorporating lessons learned, trends, and new technologies to drive further harmonization and automation throughout our service delivery
    • Leveraging GDIT strategic partnerships with vendors as part of our CSI2 to gain ready access to vendors and insight into emerging technologies and alternative tools
    • Focus on developing and executing process improvement projects organized into an actionable roadmap to increase the efficiency of our computer operations over time
    • Provide expert guidance and oversight to the team in prioritizing our improvement and streamlining efforts based on Process Harmonization efforts, conducting Value Stream Analysis and return on investment (ROI) for each improvement initiative
    • Solicit, and incentivize our staff to provide, ideas from across the program, at all levels and feed these ideas into our I&I Group
    • Actively engage in Continuous Service improvement Our approach will drive enhanced service delivery maturity through consistency and standardization
    • Expand the innovative use of IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, Robotic Process Automation tools such as UiPath), DevSecOps automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet), Monitoring Tools (e.g. Science Logic, Splunk), leverage Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Big Data to enhance computer operations service delivery through process improvement initiatives to make routine tasks easier and faster
    • Identify opportunities across our organization to automate both the simple and complex, find opportunities to innovate in ways that either reduce manual touchpoints or eliminate the possibility of mistakes, and free up staff to conduct higher-level tasks that vastly improve service delivery quality while reducing costs
    • Assess the system and business process architectures currently in place and works with innovation and improvement staff to recommend improvements
    • Ensure GDIT groups and workstreams deliver efficient and effective system solutions to support COSI business goals and objectives
    • Develop, enhance, and maintain established service design procedure and process by applying process frameworks and innovative methodologies
    • Prepare and present vendor technical presentations and product analyst briefings
    • Identify customer requirements, research, and analyze solution alternatives and conduct product demonstrations and recommendations related to process improvement, automation, integrated service delivery, monitoring, and third-party software tools
    • Provide updates and communicate to GDIT COSI leadership team on improvement project's cost, schedule, quality, value stream analysis and ROI and in comparison, to USPS stakeholder objectives
    • Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced colleagues
    • May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)--REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
      • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
      • 15+ years of experience
      • A Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a specific technology such as Business Process Improvement, IT Service MITSM or RPAWHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU:
