Scope of Work: SmartSource has a customer seeking a Server Administrator in Duluth, MN for a 6+ month possible contract to hire. Estimated start date is 3/1 and will begin working remotely until further notice but at some point the individual will be required to go onsite once COVID restrictions clear. S OR HOLDERS ONLY Prefer someone local, in which case it will be a mix of onsite and remote (will be entirely remote for now/will only become onsite if/when Covid goes away). If you find a superstar who isn't local then they will entertain 100% remote, but local is preferred. This is standard business hours 8-5 Monday-Friday. Interview Process:

• In Person Interview or Video Interview with the customer Overview:
  • Provide support for the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of VMWare, and Microsoft servers
  • Provide assistance to the VMWare team with configuration, deployment, and maintenance
  • Provide support for help desk tickets related to server technology
  • Provide operating system support for existing Windows/VMWare servers
  • Evening and weekend work may be required to perform system maintenance or upgrades (including scheduled monthly patching of production servers broken into two nights, and other maintenance windows as needed by operations or application needs); participate in on-call rotation including off hours (schedule will be provided)
  • Demonstrate expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty
  • Identify improvements to project standards to achieve high quality services/products
  • Ability to identify best practices and standards for the use of the product
  • Deliver support and design for industry-specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applications
  • Interact with executive level business users and/or technical experts
  • Focus will be on daily operations with light project work
  • Technical Environment:
    • Cisco UCS Server environment. Familiarity with UCS is a plus
    • Storage is primarily Pure Storage Flash Arrays configured in an Active Cluster environment
    • Environment is dynamic and operations are run in dual active datacenter environment
    • General backup and restore knowledge required. Existing backup infrastructure is TSM, but work is underway to evaluate and replace it, so general knowledge is expected. Qualifications:
      • s or Holders.
      • Proficient in VMWare: 3-5 years (required)
      • Windows server administration: 3-5 years (required)
      • General knowledge and support of O365/cloud applications required
      • Storage experience helpful, specifically Pure Storage & Cisco MDS
      • Experience with security/vulnerability management, scanner tools, and remediation required
      • Strong communication skills and technical expertise - will be working closely with vendors
      • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills - provided by Dice
