Learn what keeps Kapsch "always one step ahead" in people and technology by visiting our website https://www.kapsch.net/us/ktcPRIMARY PURPOSE: The Senior HR Generalist acts as an operational and tactical HR team member in the development, implementation and daily administration and coordination of policies, projects, processes and programs in support of the day to day operation of a multi-location pre-defined region for the Company. This role develops, updates, and maintains various written materials including but not limited to; HR policies & process, employee handbook, internal/external business correspondence, training materials and internal/external presentations.

In addition this role will provide daily direction to employees and managers on various employee & people management topics including; promotion, transfer, termination, employee discipline, performance management, company compliance matters (respectful workplace, code of conduct) and other matters of compliance including: sexual harassment, discrimination in the workplace and other like topics.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the design, implementation, communication and daily management of key HR policy and process and act as the primary resource for local employees and managers regarding same
  • Support the development and introduction of HR training initiatives including new hire orientations, onboarding and training on HR employee tools (Dayforce HCM)
  • Coordinate HR processes with non-HR team member at locations / sites where there is no formal HR presence
  • Monitor and act as the regional expert regarding internal HR systems and databases (SharePoint, Workday)
  • Recommend process change or change to work flows in support of global process and tools (workday)
  • Support and guide managers and employee regarding Company policies, HR programs administration and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner
  • Guide managers in department and individual performance issues, providing training, guidance and counsel on appropriate performance management actions
  • Lead/collaborate on multiple projects and processes as assigned with overlapping tasks via teams and/or independent work with minimal supervision
  • Support the efforts of the Director, HR by actively contributing to the development of department goals, objective and systems that support not only the efforts of the HR department but the company-wide strategic direction
  • Work with HR team to define, track, and deliver HR objectives and key results for assigned region and broader HR organization (e.g., Workday reporting, defining procedures, performance review).
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • University degree in HR, Organization Development, Business, Communications, or other relevant degree
    • At least 7 years of Human Resources experience in the United States

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Experience working for a national, matrixed organization
      • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
      • Experience supporting employees in multiple locations

        PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA):

        • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems - Workday
        • Excellent analytical and decision making abilities
        • Excellent knowledge of State & Federal labor requirements
        • Excellent Workday, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

          PROVEN WORK EXPERIENCE AND DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO:

          • Proactively develop solutions and apply various HR knowledge to processes and procedures to support the business and HR core work
          • Act as a tactical and operations focused HR professional
          • Develop clear & concise company policy
          • Lead HR projects, from the development to implementation stage
          • Advance to an HR management level role (12 to 18 months)
          • Manage appropriately and escalate as circumstances require

            The Kapsch portfolio of Advanced Traffic Management (ATM) services includes over 40 systems that integrate ATMS, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and automation for collecting real-time traffic and facilities-related data from highways, managed lanes, bridges, and tunnels. This information is delivered to a traffic management center where it is processed for actionable use by road operators, government authorities, and road users.

            Our tolling solutions span all-electronic toll collection in free-flow traffic, automated payment at conventional toll plazas, and city tolling. Our solutions comprise radio communication via micro waves, vehicle tracking via GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), ALPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) video tolling, and vehicle classification via video and laser sensors LVDC (Laser Vehicle Detection and Classification). Our systems can manage operations for areas ranging from individual roads to entire regions, and can be modified for distance-based or time-based charging.

            Our combined intelligent mobility solutions are used to aid traffic management personnel in making critical decisions during emergency response situations, as well as for providing real-time traffic information to road users from the highway to the city.
