Job Description:

**Overview** As part of the Fairview Home Medical Equipment (FHME) team, the Patient Service Coordinator / DME CSS answers phones and assists our customers with making appointments, placing orders, verifying insurance, and general customer service duties. This position ensures: processes are in place to support anexceptional customer service environment, efficient and effective work within a team environment, and all customers have an excellent experience with FHME. Applicants should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and desire to work independently in a team environment. This position will have a home base in the Hibbing FV-Range office. This is a benefit and PTO eligible position that is authorized for 80 hour per two week pay period. The schedule will be Monday-Friday, start time TBD. **Responsibilities/Job Description** + Knowledge of applicable DME equipment and processes + Completes all order and entry functions + Demonstrates excellent customer service skills + Produces efficient and accurate orders + Records and updates patient charts accurately, communicating changes to all involved staff + Seeks out solution to conflicts directly through parties involved and other available resources. + Adds pertinent information and documents into the patient record in Brightree + Navigate through patient medical records using EPIC + Arrange for interpreter services when appropriate + Completes insurance verification + Transfer of equipment/inventory + Answers and responds to telephones calls + Takes and leaves concise messages for patients; responds as requested + Completes clerical duties + Reviews and routes scans, faxes medical documents to necessary parties + Report professional development to supervisor + Meet weekly productivity measurements + Implements department procedures to maintain systems and records + Maintains databases, files and records on a regular basis according to established procedure + Cover different DME showroom locations in Metropolitan area as needed + Demonstrates strong communication skills + Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Fairview system + Strong organizational and prioritization skills + Ability to prioritize competing activities **Qualifications** Preferred Education: + Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience: + 1-3 years in a healthcare setting + Insurance and Billing experience + Previous DME experience + Brightree experience + Medical terminology or Healthcare background + Knowledge of all current DME items carried and billing protocols + Ability to educate patients and answer questions regarding product information and use + Ability to align payer information and billing requirements to support patient needs + Ability to answer all questions regarding equipment and insurance coverage + Transfer inventory with precise accuracy between locations using computer software + Execute all claim processing for DME orders in an accurate and timely manner + Strong knowledge of insurance coverage and current insurance guidelines + Accurately bill all equipment for patients receiving their equipment from Fairview Home Medical Equipment, according to doctor orders and insurance guidelines + Strong working knowledge of billing systems/processes + Meet daily department productivity + Ability to follow detailed instructions according to insurance regulations and guidelines + Ability to form and keep good relationships with hospital staff ordering products **Need help finding the right job?** We can recommend jobs specifically for you! _Fairview Health Services (fairview.org) is an award-winning, nonprofit health system providing exceptional care across the full spectrum of health care services.
