Generally, we seek 7-day availability to include rotating shifts for a 5-days on / 2-days off schedule. The role can be either full- or part-time and includes primarily evening shifts. Starting Wage: $11.50/hour ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Specific Job Responsibilities - Receives dirty linen from housekeeping staff and separates linens and towels by type - Washes, dry's and folds laundry following proper procedures - Maintains the organization of the laundry room - Follows all safety and OSHA regulations and other applicable state and local regulations - Tracks and reports linen shortages, damages or other discrepancies to appropriate manager - Maintains product quality standards by inspecting and properly treating stained or torn linens - Customer Focus - Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner - All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction - Always strive to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards - Accountability - Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties - Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures - Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures - Attends all required department and hotel meetings Required Experience: - No prior housekeeping experience required. Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred - Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment - A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates - Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the portfolio - Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services WORK ENVIRONMENT - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration - The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites - The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. with assistance - Must be able to spend the majority of the day standing, carrying, and walking - Strong attention to detail required - Must be able to follow written and verbal directions - Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience with general knowledge of cleaning chemicals preferred - Must be flexible in hours and days available to work - Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with multiple interruptions - Obtain any locally required certification as needed Sherman Associates is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
