Job Description:
Southern Health Partners is seeking a dedicated and meticulous
Certified Medication Aide to join our dynamic team at Douglas
County Jail. This role is crucial in our mission to deliver
top-notch, innovative healthcare services within the correctional
environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for
administering daily medication to inmates, accurately maintaining
medication administration records, and ensuring compliance with all
applicable health and safety regulations. This position offers the
unique opportunity to work within a correctional facility,
providing both challenge and reward in equal measure. Working
closely with our healthcare team, the Certified Medication Aide
will contribute to our reputation for excellent healthcare service
in correctional settings, emphasizing patient care, safety, and
ethical treatment. Administer orally prescribed medications to
patients under the direction of a nurse or physician, and monitor
patients for adverse reactions. Record and monitor patient
medication regimens and report any deviations to the supervising
nurse. Ensure the secure storage of all medications and adherence
to safety standards. Participate in the assessment of patient
health status and assist in the management of patient care plans.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the
delivery of high-quality, integrated patient care. Educate patients
about medication and treatment regimens. Strong knowledge of
pharmacology and medication effects. Ability to adhere strictly to
ethical and safety guidelines. Strong observational skills and
detail oriented. Effective communication skills, both oral and
written. Experience in managing medication in high-stress
environments. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Certification from a recognized Medication Aide training program.
Valid state certification as a Certified Medication Aide. CPR
certified.
