Job Description:
Southern Health Partners is seeking a Certified Medication Aide
to join our team at Douglas County Jail. This position requires a
dedicated healthcare professional to administer daily medication to
inmates under the supervision of nursing staff, and ensuring the
highest standards of medical care in a secure correctional
environment. You will ensure patient safety, maintain accurate
records, and comply with all facility policies and procedures,
reflecting our commitment to exceptional healthcare services in the
correctional system. Administer prescribed medications to patients
and maintain related medical records under nursing supervision.
Verify identity before administering medication to ensure correct
timing, dosage, and compliance with medical orders. Observe
patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify
supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to
drugs. Maintain medication inventory, ensure secure storage, and
manage reorder processes in compliance with safety guidelines.
Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures of the
correctional facility and Southern Health Partners. Strong
organizational and communication skills. Ability to work with a
high level of professionalism and discretion. Familiarity with
medication administration, pharmaceutical terminology, and patient
safety protocols. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid certification as a Certified
Medication Aide (CMA). CPR certified is preferred.
