Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic
rehabilitation team in an acute hospital setting. The COTA will
work closely with occupational therapists to provide high-quality
care and support to patients across various departments, including
General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology,
Oncology, Neurology, and Behavioral Health. The ideal candidate
will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and the
ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Education
Qualifications: Education as required for licensure Under the
supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy
Assistant delivers services in alignment with established practice
guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Assist occupational therapists in
developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for
patients with diverse needs. Provide direct patient care, including
therapeutic activities, exercises, and functional tasks to
facilitate the rehabilitation process. Monitor patient progress and
document outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and
regulatory standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to
ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication
regarding patient needs and progress. Educate patients and their
families about treatment plans, goals, and strategies for continued
wellness post-discharge. Maintain a safe and organized treatment
environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and
continuing education opportunities to enhance professional growth.
Schedule: Full time, day shift, with one weekend shift required per
month. Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Current
certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
from an accredited program. State licensure or eligibility for
licensure as a COTA. Qualifications: Previous experience in an
acute hospital setting preferred, particularly in areas such as
general medicine, surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, oncology,
neurology, and behavioral health. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to manage
time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
