Education Qualifications:Licensure/Certification Qualifications:PSYCHOTHERAPY (LICSW) - Casual, Consult Psychiatry ServiceDuluth, MinnesotaJOB SUMMARYProvides therapeutic services and diagnostic services to patients and families. This is to include but is not limited to individual, group, and family therapy, mental health intakes and assessments, diagnostics, and coordination of treatment services for the patient. May be required to provide Minnesota DHS Clinical Supervision requirements as required for Partial Hospitalization Programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• This position can include weekends and evenings
• When requested, use psychiatric expertise to provide holistic assessment and assist consultation-Liaison team in identification of behavioral health concerns. Furthermore, work with the requesting providers team to formulate interventions.
• When requested, use psychiatric expertise to provide crisis assessment, identify imminent risks and work with the requesting physicians team to formulate recommendations for interventions.
• When requested and using psychiatric expertise, act as a consultant to SMC social workers, case managers and nursing staff to educate regarding community resources and discharge planning.
• Participate in ongoing, sometimes self-guided, evidence-based continuing education in attempt to provide care that is current, cost-effective and based on sound research.
• Act in professional manner to formulate and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and co-workers.
• In line with Essentia Healths values, work to ensure quality care that is provided to all clients within the Essentia-St. Marys system regardless of diagnosis and work to reduce the stigma of mental illness and psychiatric disorders.Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Social Work
  • Licensed as an LICSW if practicing in Minnesota. Licensed as an LCSW if practicing in Wisconsin. In other states, must be certified or licensed as required by the state in which practice occurs for the purpose of reimbursement.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
