In this role, you will be accountable for successfully implementing the environmental portion of project development, surveys, and permitting for all projects implemented by US Liquids Pipelines (LP) and Gas Transmission & Midstream (GTM) Project Programs and US GTM Operations.

Environmental permitting of Projects continues to become more complex, and this role provides critical direction, working with the business units and projects functions on new projects.

What you will do:

  • Timely receipt of required environmental permits, including acceptable permit conditions.
  • Working closely with the other Environment Managers to ensure best practices and consistency of environment policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborating with internal partners to ensure compliance with environmental permit and policy obligations and requirements.
  • Leading a team with responsibility for ensuring efficient deployment of environmental inspection field resources and program for the US LP and GTM.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to minimize environmental incidents
  • Managing and supporting the development and monitoring of project budgets.


    Who you are:

    • Undergraduate Bachelor's degree.
    • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in environment with both operational and project experience including 5 years supervision and/or management experience is preferred.
    • Ability to manage a team that is responsible for a portfolio of projects with varying degrees of complexity and environmental permitting requirements across many different federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to connect and inspire change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.



      Working Conditions:

      • Office based.
      • Up to 10% travel.

        Physical Requirements: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

        Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
