Our -National Tax Team is looking for a -Tax Manager to focus on tax exempt non-profit and tax exempt healthcare clients. - -Due to the nature of this group and number of Fiscal Year End clients, this group recognizes their largest due dates of May 15th, August 15th, November 15th and February 15th as the determining factor of expected productivity. The traditional tax due dates and extended due dates of March, April, September and October 15th are not a significant determining factor of expected hours worked and production achieved. When comparing this position to a "traditional" tax position there are less peak hours expected during those times, but more necessary outside of those times. Resulting in a steady and constant stream of work and obligations, but less of a peak and valley throughout the year.Wipfli recognized as 2021 Microsoft Nonprofit Partner of the YearResponsibilities: -Serve as the main tax point of contact within our firm for clientsCommunicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely mannerLead and manage tax compliance engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectationsPlan and schedule tax engagements with clients and firm resourcesPerform detailed reviews of tax work papers, returns, research and communications completed by other associatesProvide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior accountantsParticipate in and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projectsMaintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to industry specializationResearch and communicate with client and firm personnel regarding complex tax mattersQualifications:Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCPA certificationRequires at 3+ years of job-related experienceExperience making recommendations to managementPrior public accounting experience a plusWipfli is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
