Job Description:

TheAllocation Manager is responsible for the allocation of inventory to maximize sales and margin for Division/Departments of the Company. The Manager supports the team in identifying and building strategies for location based opportunities to deliver improved margin and a better customer experience. They are responsible for building sizing and packing strategies that support company goals. The Allocation Manager will coach, develop, direct and motivate a team of Distribution Analyst and Distributors. We seek a JDA Allocation Systems Expert! Develop and ensure proper execution of allocation strategies for division/ departments Establish strategy and provide direction to the allocation team Review monthly Grades and assortments along with weekly division/department exception stores to ensure individual store trends are being maximized through accurate location plans. Provide ongoing direction to DA/Distributor on product and allocation strategy. Identify and communicate regional/climate/location opportunities. Participate in Order Meetings to understand strategies and bring forward observations. Review teams recommendations on timing of consolidations/transfers, warehouse out dates, markdowns, etc. Develop strong working knowledge of JDA Allocation. Lead development of strategies to support execution of JDA auto allocation. Set strategies for team to drive allocations in JDA (weighting, DC splits, store selections, time frames). Provide direction on store selections. Ensure real estate activity stores open and maintain an appropriate assortment and inventory level. Review past allocation decisions to guide future strategies. Business Analysis (recommend localization strategies, identify potential sizing and packing opportunities): * Identify localization opportunities (region, climate, location, volume) both in season and post season as part of the Hind-sighting process. * Participate in PLC meetings and bring appropriate analysis, identifying learnings and future opportunities. * Manage sizing and packing strategy and process for division o Identify sizing and packing opportunities o Including but not limited to recapping divisions monthly size analysis, pull together all required information for pre seaso size profiles and review of profiles, working with the SPO team to analyze and approve SPO returns. * Lead hindsight analysis to inform future strategies * Leverage systems knowledge (RDW, JDA,) in order to produce meaningful reports that identify business opportunities. * Think strategically by asking good questions and gathering thorough information. * Provide leadership and support for brand and product initiatives and overall company strategies. Leadership: * Key Cross-functional partner with Merchandising, Planning and Visual. * Manage Allocation Team, clearly communicate directives and day-to-day management of the business. o Create a team culture of open communication and a drive for continuous improvement and enthusiasm for achieving business objectives * Communicate with other Allocation Managers/Directors to ensure consistent strategies across all areas. * Lead specific inventory management projects and process improvement efforts focused on delivering improved margin and better customer experience. * Build relationships and partner with Field organization. Resolve inventory concerns and other issues, following through with timely communication back to the field. Coaching/developing: * Hire and train new associates * Encourage development through training and MU classes * Allow others to express their thoughts and recognize their contributions * Challenge distribution analysts and distributors through delegating assignments that stretch their thinking and knowledge * Set development goals for distribution analysts and distributors and track progress Create and maintain strong partnerships: * Approachable and receptive to ideas from others * Challenge ideas, theories and processes as needed * Provide continuous feedback, inclusive of positive reinforcement and/or more productive ways to move forward * Deliver on commitment and hold others accountable for the same * Share issues/information regarding business to buying and planning teams Consistently embody the Company Leadership Principles in the pursuit of goal achievement and results Education: * Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience is required Experience: * Three years of merchandise planning/distribution experience preferred * Two years of management experience required * JDA experience preferred Skills: * Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software technology. * Proficiency in Excel required. Ability to use MS office suite (word, powerpoint, etc). * Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. * Proven ability to train, coach, develop direct reports. * Proven ability to develop and maintain highly effective cross functional relationships. * Self driven with ability to influence business decisions. * Strong verbal and written communication skill * Ability to successfully lead and deal with change and develop new business process.
