Job Description Job Description Job Summary The primary
responsibility of the Aircraft Avionics & Electrical Engineer in
the Field Sustaining Engineering department is to provide
engineering support and troubleshooting guidance for all certified
Cirrus products (current and legacy). Secondary responsibilities
include but are not limited to redesign for reliability
improvement, redesign for manufacturability and/or serviceability
improvement, customer satisfaction improvement, and component
obsolescence support. The aforementioned responsibilities shall be
accomplished in accordance with all governing FAA regulations and
Cirrus specifications, investigated using a combination of
analysis, bench, and flight testing, and incorporated using best
design practices to ensure a robust product line for years to come.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions Investigation and
testing of aircraft electrical systems and equipment, including:
Research and identification of potential solutions to design
objectives Test case development, execution, and troubleshooting on
both bench and aircraft Requirement development and traceability
Detailed design and installation Coordinate development and system
integration within Cirrus and with suppliers Generate high quality
reports and test plans that will be used to meet FAR Part 23
requirements Investigate and troubleshoot aircraft system issue
reports from production and field aircraft Support the Field
Service team in addressing issues on aircraft Qualifications To

functions. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an
Engineering field (or equivalent) required 5 years experience
engineering experience required, with general aviation
aircraft/avionics experience preferred Experience with aircraft
systems development processes and requirements traceability
preferred Aircraft systems design, integration, installation,
testing and certification experience preferred Basic knowledge of
aircraft, automotive, or consumer electrical and avionics systems
desired Experience with data acquisition system development and
application desired FAA certification experience preferred
Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to
demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English
language Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and
understandable manner Ability to work both independently and within
a cross-functional team Ability to efficiently learn new skills and
manage multiple tasks Use of lab equipment such air-conditioning
system maintenance software and test equipment Ability to interpret
various forms of data and use the information to determine cause
and justify solutions to issues Proficient with Microsoft Office
(Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) Competencies To perform
