Job Description:
Engineers in this role are responsible for the design,
integration, design support, testing, and certification of interior
furnishings and seat systems for general aviation aircraft.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design detail parts, assemblies, and installations of interiors,
seating, and monuments using PTC Creo---.apply reduced dimensions
and GD&T to drawings as appropriate.
Provide engineering technical expertise and lead small integrated
teams to design and test aircraft interior products across all
models.
Support the development of design requirements, processes, project
plans, and activities required to design and certify aircraft
interiors and furnishings.
Author test plans, test reports, and other engineering reports to
support product development, validation, and certification.
Coordinate and conduct testing to show compliance with company and
regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with interior suppliers.
Apply pertinent sections of Federal Aviation Regulations Part
23.
Familiarity with flammability, seat dynamic testing, and FAA
certification desired.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
4-year degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
10+ years product development engineering
Experience in aviation and/or automotive seats, interiors
engineering, comfort and ergonomics, engineering aesthetic
industrial design visions into cost-effective, producible interior
products.
Working knowledge of aircraft or automotive interior materials and
manufacturing processes
Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly and Design
for Maintainability.
Working knowledge of CAD, PDM/PLM and collaboration tools.
Familiarity with PTC Creo, PTC Windchill PDM, and Atlassian JIRA
toolsSurfacing native in Creo is preferred
Knowledge of "Class A" surfacing
