In this role, you will develop low to medium complexity brownfield projects for Core Programs Execution teams. Core Project Development is accountable for the project development activities associated with modification, expansion, operability, reliability, and integrity of existing Enbridge Gas Transmission and Midstream (GTM), Liquids Pipelines and Gas Distribution & Storage facilities.

Note: This posting is for two positions.

What Will You Do:

  • Drive innovative, fit-for-purpose, development of projects in support of business drivers that protect and/or enhance pipelines and facilities throughput and revenue, often providing options that permit customer flexibility and choice.
  • Ensuring Maintenance Capital (MC), Enhancement Capital (EC), and Growth budgets are optimized through fit for purpose development, collaboration, and communication with partners and timely and accurate forecasting to support business decisions.
  • Drive partner engagement; preliminary determination of regulatory requirements; and completion of front end engineering designs, cost estimates, schedules, and project execution strategies.
  • Oversee technical activities such as preliminary engineering activities, scope development, hydraulic analysis, cost estimation, schedule development, risk assessment, and economic analysis.
  • Review and approve project charters on capital projects and provide them to business decision makers.
  • Provide regular formal and informal project management reporting to Senior Management and stakeholders on assigned projects.


    Who You Are:
    • Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering degree is an asset).
    • If you reside in Canada, you will be required to have a Professional Engineering designation or eligible to attain designation.
    • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the energy sector and/ or development engineering.
    • Experience in design, project execution, or operations of liquid and gas pipeline systems and associated facilities.
    • Excellent project management, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
    • Professional designation and/or extensive experience and knowledge of AACE and PMI best practices in estimating and project management, is desirable.
    • Effective communicator in diverse team environments.


      Working Conditions
      • Office Environment.
      • 10-20% to offices of customers / stakeholders which may include field locations. May include international travel and require a valid passport.

        Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

        Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

        Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
