Your Opportunity
We're looking for Civil/Environmental Engineering interns for our
summer 2023 internship program! As an intern, you will:
Work alongside professionals in the Engineering & Environmental
Consulting industry
Gain valuable experience and accomplishments to add to your
resume
Meet new people and practice networking skills while establishing a
network of professional contacts, mentors, and references
Apply some of the ideas learned in school and provide a bridge
between school and the professional world
Achieve a sense of accomplishment by contributing to an
organization
Your Key Responsibilities
Respect and assist our clients by being responsive and
reliable.

Continually ask questions and grow in your relative field. Our

Drafting, code research, and field observations.
Drafting, computer modeling, data entry, assistance with
preparation of construction plans and specifications, and
communicating with clients.
Serving our customers with by completing indirect tasks such as
transporting equipment/tools between job sites, running samples to
the appropriate laboratory, or delivering vehicles/equipment for
maintenance and general office assistance.
Various client support including landfill and wastewater plant
construction observations, stormwater compliance inspections,
preparing permit application forms, documenting emission
calculations, preparing reports/plans, data entry and analysis,
assessing the applicability of environmental regulations, site
inspections, quality assurance/quality control, collecting samples,
and communicating with project managers.
Providing support to other groups within Stantec, as business needs
dictate, allowing exposure to other disciplines and client types
related to engineering and environmental science.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil
and/or environmental engineering design.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and
to engage in creative and critical thought.
Understanding of civil and/or environmental engineering concepts
and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and basic,
AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently within a
team.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and
to engage in creative and critical thought.
Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE,
including client-specific training (as required).
Education and Experience
Current Civil or Environmental Engineering student at an accredited
university.
Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining
sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure
to the elements including inclement weather.
