Job Description:
Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of
automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an
opportunity for an Application Engineer in our customer-oriented,
fast paced Superior WI Field Service team. The successful candidate
would assist our automation and digital transformation system
customers in developing, delivering, maintaining, and optimizing
our state-of-the-art automation and digital transformation
solutions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work with our
customers to:Become a Trusted Advisor by actively listening and
communicating to accomplish their goalsParticipate in the
establishment, measurement, and achievement of customer
satisfaction metricsProvide an ongoing communication channel
between them and internal teams to ensure expectations are well
established and understoodManage expectations and engagement scope
to ensure a clear understanding of technological capabilities and
limitationsComply with internal and customer safety
programsRecommend and implement plant floor digital transformation
technologies, including Operational Analytics, Production Data
Management, and Operations ManagementRecommend and implement
improvement to Distributed Control Systems, PLC, and other control
systemsProvide ongoing site support, which may include:Distributed
Control System configuration, commissioning, startup, and
tuningDistributed Control System, field instrumentation, and
valve-related situations troubleshooting and problem
resolutionConfiguration optimization of both batch and continuous
process controlLoop tuningTroubleshooting field instrumentation and
valve applicationInterfaces to PLCs, drives, and various control
bus networksCybersecurityMicrosoft Windows administrator
functionsEthernet IP networksSetup and configuration of Operational
Analytics, Production Data Management, and Operations Management
systemsWork to grow Novaspect as an employee-owner of our
ESOPDevelop new and improve existing engineering toolsWork as a
team with sales to market, find, and sell solutionsWork as a
teamWork independently and as part of a team supporting a
customerCoordinate with internal sales and project teams to help
investigate and resolve complex obstaclesHelp colleagues as they
encounter situations they are not as familiar withProvide clear and
frequent communicationsPerform diagnostic and troubleshooting over
the phoneCreate in-depth and professional engineering proposals and
reportsAuthor whitepapers on engineering subjectsConverse with
other industry experts about technical conceptsDeliver
presentations to external and internal customersArticulate and
communicate solutions to both engineers and non-engineersEducation
and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology
field3-5 years of experience in the control system engineering
field3-5 years DeltaV experience preferred or 5-7 years in another
DCS/PLC experience preferredField application of industrial
instrumentation preferredMicrosoft administration and TCPIP
networking knowledge a plusEmerson Product Knowledge is a
plusAdditional Requirements:Own and maintain an individual learning
and development plan of continuous learning, including soft skills
and the latest technologiesAbility to travel throughout the
designated service area (typically travel is by company vehicle and
most events are day trips with up to 35% hotel stays depending on
your home base).Role will be onsite for 2-5 years.Physical
Requirements:Ability to lift 30lbsAbility to work extended hours on
a computerAbility to work in a loud industrial environmentPay:Cash
compensation potential: $87,000-$134,000 (inclusive of base, bonus,
