Job Description:
Job Description Responsible work assisting in the planning and
development of various inmate reintegration treatment programs in
the County Jail. The preferred candidate would have licensure in CD
and/or mental health, with knowledge and training in both, in order
to address addiction and mental health issues inside the jail
facilities. The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring
range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is
$30.18 - $42.65 per hour. This position is part of the Civil
Service Basic Union Contract represented by Council 5 of AFSCME. An
employee in this class is responsible for the evaluation of
psycho-social problems experienced by inmates and the development
and implementation of programs to meet the inmates' reintegration
needs. Duties include diagnosing problem behaviors; screening
inmates and providing remedial counseling; assisting in the
planning, development, evaluation and revision of various
reintegration treatment programs; preparing treatment program
reports; presenting inmate evaluations to the court; conducting
educational and therapeutic group counseling; and functioning in a
limited capacity as a Program Facilitator on assigned shifts as
required. The work is performed within defined policies and
procedures under the direction of assigned supervisory staff. These
work environment factors are general in nature and may vary
depending on the specific position being filled. FREQUENT: Lift and
carry up to 10 pounds; near, mid and far vision; depth perception;
field of vision; visual accommodation; color vision; hear; bend
neck; use fingers; grasp; handle; maintain posture; move about;
rotate neck; sit; stand; talk; walk; work alone, with and around
others; customer/public contact; clients with behavioral
challenges, extended days and work inside. OCCASIONAL: Lift and
carry up to 20 pounds; balance; feel; climb stairs; crouch, kneel,
reach, reach above shoulders; squat; stoop/bend; taste/smell; twist
at waist; walk; blood-borne pathogens; moving objects, traffic;
outside and driving. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail): -
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, criminology
or a closely related field; AND two (2) years of full-time paid
verifiable experience in a corrections or social services agency
with responsibility for the psycho-social counseling of
individuals. - Possession of a valid driver's license. Please Note:

RATING SYSTEMS: Supplemental Questions will be 50% of the scoring
