MEnD Correctional Care is seeking a Full-Time Medical Clinic Administrative Assistant to join the team in Duluth, MN.

Candidates must enjoy working with an underserved population and be willing to work in a county correctional facility where patient and staff safety is of high importance. The Medical Clinic Administrative Assistant will provide assistance to the medical staff under the direction and supervision of the Supervisory Nurse, Nursing Director, and Medical Provider.

This opportunity will be located at the Sherburne County Jail.

Hours:

• Monday-Friday, Day Shift
  
  Job Duties:
  
  • Administrative duties such as route and distribute incoming postal mail and email, manage MEnD forms, professionally answer phone calls, and emails
  • Scheduling of appointments
  • Provide as a back-up health technician; assisting in the self-administration of medications to inmates within the jail facility
  • Create and maintain jail inmate files according to current regulations.
  • Coordinates the release of information (ROIs) to other facilities
  • Enters inmate charges for medical services and OTC items if requested to enter by facility.
  • Distributes and posts all relevant memos for MEnD staff's information.
  • Helps the collection of quarterly stats for the facility to deliver to the corporate office
  • Ensures operation of office equipment, calling for repairs, and maintaining equipment inventories
  • Maintains jail office supply inventory by determining inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, ordering supplies; verifying receipts
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Other various duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
    
    Qualifications:
    
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
    • 2+ years of experience in same or similar setting (corrections or medical), preferred
    • Attention to detail
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinic & laboratory procedures preferred
    • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be a self-starter.
    • Ability to operate fax machines, copiers, videoconferencing and phone systems, and other office tools.
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite
